I'm excited to be participating in the Out There Art Festival, a physically distanced outdoor festival celebrating interactive and community art in Quadra Villiage, Victoria, B.C.
Participants will receive a map of art installations on display at homes and businesses throughout the neighbourhood, so that they can enjoy the art at their own pace, while respecting the requirement for physical distancing. Over 100 art installations are featured on the inteactive map. Performances from Theatre SKAM, Rollerskate Victoria, Pacific Opera Victoria, and The Rising Circus are taking place in the neighbourhood during the festival.
An audio walking tour created by local historian Vincent Gornall features a selection of installations in Quadra Village. During the festival, community members can share their hopes for the future of Quadra Village by creating and showcasing their own art where they live, sharing a pop-up performance of their own with the community, or by helping create community art installations around the neighbourhood.
Please encourage your friends and neighbours to participate in the festival, and to support the artists by buying their pay-what-you-can tickets at OutThereArtFest.ca.
The festival is brought to you by HQ Collective and the Alter Arts Society.
